PML-Q MNA, others booked under Section 144

BAHAWALPUR: On the complaint of Sadar police SHO, the police on Tuesday booked PML-Q MNA and former district Nazim Ch Tariq Bashir Cheema along with others on the charge of violating Section 144 on Monday night.
In his complaint, the SHO claimed that the MNA along with UC chairman Khalid Gujjar allegedly violated the Section 144 by conducting a press conference at the residence of Khalid Gujjar on Jhangi Wala Road in which they allegedly threatened that they would go to Islamabad to participate in the PTI dharna. The SHO alleged that the MNA threatened that if they were stopped or arrested than they would launch an FIR against the RPO and DPO. Likewise, PTI district president Muhammad Asghar Joiya, general secretary Nabeelur Rehman and others were also booked by the Sadar police under the same charges. The Shorkot police arrested Asghar Joiya who was on his way to Islamabad on Monday night. He was shifted to Sma Stta police station and later to Multan Jail.
