Injured Rescue 1122 DEO dies

JHANG: Rescue 1122 District Emergency Officer/incharge Dr Tariq Saeed who was injured in an accident three days ago, died at Al-Shifa Hospital, Islamabad, on Wednesday.

Dr Tariq Saeed was injured when a rickshaw hit him near Ayub Chowk three days ago. Dr Tariq was immediately shifted to the Allied Hospital, Faisalabad, and later shifted to the Al-Shifa Hospital, Islamabad, in critical condition. Kotwali police have arrested rickshaw driver Yasir and started investigation.

His body was brought to Jhang from Islamabad for burial.

GANG BUSTED: Police on Wednesday arrested four members of an inter-district gang and recovered weapons from them.

Talking to media, DPO Humayun Masood said that a police team had been formed to arrest proclaimed offender Mumtaz Faqira, a resident of Khanewal, who was wanted by Toba, Muzaffargarh, Khanewal and Jhang police in murder, robbery and other heinous crimes. The DPO said that a special police party raided and arrested Mumtaz Fiqira and his accomplices, Sharafat Ali, Ahsanullah and Saeed Anwar, from Chak 494 in the limits of Shorkot police. Humayun Masood said that the police also recovered a Kalashnikov and other weapons from the gangsters who had confessed to commit several heinous crimes.
