DBA observes strike against Quetta tragedy

GUJRANWALA: On the call of Pakistan Bar Council and Punjab Bar Council, the District Bar Association members observed a complete strike against the Quetta tragedy here on Wednesday.
The lawyers boycotted courts proceedings to register their protest. Meanwhile, a protest rally was organised by the ATI against the Quetta incident. The participants chanted slogans against India and Afghan agencies and alleged that they were responsible of Quetta attack. They demanded the government record protest against India and Afghanistan on international forum.
DACOITS CONTINUE LOOTING SPREE: Dacoits looted cash, gold ornaments and other valuables in 10 incidents here on Wednesday.
Three armed men intercepted Yousaf and snatched cash and a cell phone from him and injured him on resistance at Kamoke. Dacoits looted Rs 6,000 and a motorcycle from Tanveer at Sadar Kamoke. Afzal and his wife were deprived of gold ornaments, cash and four cell phones at Noshera Virkan while bandits snatched Rs 25,000 and two cell phones from Iftikhar at Kot Ladha. Robbers looted Rs 28,000, gold ornaments and a cell phone from Imran and his wife at Sadar while Ansar Farooq was deprived of his applied for motorcycle. Bandits snatched Rs 22,000 and a cell phone from Alam at Satellite Town while armed men snatched Rs 17,000 and two cell phones from Abid at Sabzi Mandi. Bandits looted Rs 25,000 and a cell phone from Anees at Wahndo while dacoits took away applied for motorcycle from Shakeel at Baghbanpura. Unknown thieves took away gold ornaments, cash and valuables from the house of Rashid at Kotwali.

Hundreds of cops sent to Islamabad

GUJRANWALA: On the request of the federal government, hundreds of policemen, including lady police constables, on Wednesday sent to Islamabad from here to perform duty during PTI Dharna on November 2.
The policemen also included 80 lady police constables. It is learnt that more police officers and officials would leave for Islamabad in the next two days.
