Rawalpindi in trouble against Karachi in Under-19 match
KARACHI: After dismissing Karachi for a paltry 144 in their first innings Rawalpindi were gasping at 75-7 in response at close on the opening day of the three-day Inter-Region Under-19 tournament game at Mirpur Cricket Stadium, Mirpur, Azad Kashmir.
In the triangular stage outing on Wednesday, after being invited to bat first on a lively track, Karachi perished in only 51.4 overs. Ram Ravi scored 48 which came off 94 balls and had 11 fours.
Mohammad Zubair belted 28 off 48 balls, striking five fours. Umair Yousuf made 20 off 29 which featured four fours.
Mohammad Haroon was the pick of the bowlers with 5-50. Ibrar captured 3-49.
Rawalpindi also failed to bat well and were in deep trouble at stumps, still 69 runs behind with three wickets in hand.
Nasir Nawaz scored 28-ball 24 with five fours. Umair Masood belted 24 off 41 balls, hitting five fours. Abrar Ahmed got 3-8. Mohammad Umar captured 2-27.
