KARACHI: Navy and PIA recorded big victories in 61st PSO National Hockey Championship on Wednesday at Sialkot Hockey Stadium in Sialkot.
Navy found little resistance from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and recorded a convincing 8-0 victory. Akbar Ali scored twice while Atif Ali, Wajiullah, Mohammad Sabir, Mohammad Asif, Shahbaz Ali and Ali Sher scored one goal each.
Meanwhile, PIA bulldozed hosts Sindh and registered a formidable 12-1 victory. Kashif Ali scored a hat-trick; Abu Bakar scored two goals while Shafqat Rasool, Awais-ur-Rehman, Azfar Yaqoob, Ihsanullah, Rana Sohail, Nohaiz Malik and Ammad Butt scored one goal each for the winning team. Shujaat Ali scored consolatory goal for Sindh.
The third match of the day between Port Qasim Authority and HEC ended in a 2-2 draw. Abu Bakar and Mohammad Saleem scored one each for Port Qasim Authority while Mohammad Arslan and Hassan Ubaid scored one goal apiece for HEC.
