PHC protocol officer laid to rest
PESHAWAR: The protocol officer of the Peshawar High Court (PHC), Abbas Gardezi, who had died in a road accident along with his brother-in-law and driver the previous day, was laid to rest on Tuesday.
The funeral prayer was offered at Tajabad locality amid a tight security. PHC Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel, judges, lawyers , relatives, and friends attended the last funeral of the deceased. He was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard. The deceased officer left behind a wife and five children to mourn his death.
Abbas Gardezi, his brother-in-law Sheharyar and driver Behram Khan were killed when the car they were travelling in overturned on the Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway near the Rashakai Interchange on Monday night. They were returning from Islamabad. The Motorway Police said all the three were killed on the spot.
