PML-N, PTI should sit together before it is too late: Rehman Malik
ISLAMABAD: The Chairman of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control, Senator Rehman Malik, advised the PML-N and the PTI to sit together before it was too late.
He said that as a patriotic Pakistani, he was saddened over the current situation in the country, said a press release. The senator said he wanted to warn the PML-N and the PTI of the fact that the situation was becoming volatile because of the political deadlock in the country.
Rehman Malik said, “In the given circumstances, we need unity to counter the real enemies like India and terrorists.” He asked the PML-N and the PTI to take “popular decisions” in the interest of the country as “we have many other issues to attend to, especially to counter India and the terrorists”.
The senator said that even if Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had to go to Imran Khan’s house to restore normality, the prime minister must do so. “I will accompany Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to play my role for reconciliation,” he added. He urged the president and the prime minister to immediately summon a joint session of the Parliament on the current political crisis.
