Mardan Nazim says PTI govt stopping funds for projects
MARDAN: District Nazim of Mardan Himayatullah Mayar on Friday accused the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government of stopping funds for the uplift projects launched by the Awami National Party (ANP) in Mardan during its rule.
“The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government is bent upon harming this province, particularly Mardan,” he said while talking to reporters after laying the foundation stone for the building of “Darul Aman” at Mohabatabad here.
District Naib Nazim Asad Ali and other district council members were also present on the occasion.
Himayatullah Mayar said that the construction of the “Darul Aman” building was the first initiative of district government as it was currently working in a rented building and its staff members faced problem for not having own structure.
He added that women living at the “Darul Aman” faced a host of problems so the district government decided to construct a building for it.
The nazim added that the district council had approved Rs4 million for construction of the building. He added that the construction work would be completed in one year.
Himayatullah Mayar accused the PTI-led provincial government of not releasing funds for the project that were initiated by the ANP during its rule.
