Woman commits suicide

DASKA: A married woman committed suicide at Matakey village in the area of Sadar police on Wednesday.

The woman ended her life by taking poisonous pills over a domestic dispute. The body has been shifted to a hospital for post-mortem.

COWS DISTRIBUTED AMONG POOR WOMEN: On the orders of the Punjab CM, a ceremony was held in which local administration distributed buffaloes and cows among the widow and needy women.

Gujranwala Commissioner Muhammad Asif was the chief gust. He distributed 250 buffaloes and cows among the needy women. Sialkot DCO Dr Asif, the AC Daska and others were also present.

VALUABLES LOOTED: Two dacoity incidents were reported here on Wednesday.

Sanaullah of Veer Wala village was on his way when two armed dacoits intercepted him and snatched cash, a cell phone and a motorcycle from him. In the second incident, Asim, Amir, Mudassar and Sajjad entered the house of Rehana Bibi and allegedly looted valuables.

Accused Arshad gave a fake cheque to Ahsan, which was bounced by the concerned bank.

MAN BOOKED: Police on Wednesday booked a man for providing shelter to a proclaimed offender.

On a tip-off, the police raided to arrest PO Amir but accused Ali Akbar allegedly helped him to flee.

MINOR BOY ABDUCTED: A minor boy was abducted from Motra police limits on Wednesday.

Khalid Mahmood was playing in a street when some unknown accused abducted him. The police have started investigation.
