Hurling life threats to DEO
Police directed to proceed against MNA’s son
From Our Correspondent
JHANG: Taking notice of a complaint filed by District Education Officer (Secondary Education) Muhammad Akram, DPO Humayun Masood has directed the Kotwali SHO to proceed against the PML-N MNA’s son and his private secretary for allegedly hurling life threats to him.
The DEO (SE) through his official letter No-8114 addressed to the DPO stated that a couple of days ago he was in his office when MNA Sheikh Muhammad Akram’s son Councillor Sheraz Akram and his private secretary Abdul Rehman Butt came there in connection with the transfer of a schoolteacher. He alleged that the MNA’s son and private secretary hurled life threats to him in the presence of his staff when he refused to oblige them for doing ‘illegal’ work. The DEO has demanded action against them.
On the other hand, Councillor Sheraz Akram, in a statement, alleged that DEO (SE) Muhammad Akram having affiliation with an extremist organisation had made a record corruption during transfer of teachers. He further alleged that multiple transfer orders of teachers had been issued for a single seat during his tenure, creating havoc in the district.
He said that whenever the aggrieved people and the elected public representatives visited his office, the DEO allegedly insulted them. He has demanded action against the DEO for alleged corruption.
