Seven cable operators held for airing
banned Indian channels

GUJRANWALA: The Pemra officials on Sunday arrested seven cable operators and seized their equipment for airing banned Indian channels.
The action was taken during a crackdown on cable operators who were involved in violating the Pemra rules, said Pemra regional manager Khurram Siddique while talking here. He told that total 300 raids were conducted so far by the Pemra teams during the crackdown. He said that operational staff had been directed to remain alert round the clock while leaves of all officers and officials had also been cancelled to make the crackdown successful.
8 SHOPS SEALED FOR DECANTING: On the orders of DCO Muhammad Amir Jan, Khiali Town teams on Sunday conducted raids and sealed two factories and eight shops on the charge of decanting.
The teams conducted raids at various areas including Jinnah Road, Hafizabad Road and Gondlanwala Road and sealed two factories and eight shops for decanting.
