Gujranwala commissioner visits Muharram procession routes
GUJRANWALA: Commissioner Muhammad Tahir has said that it is the responsibility of the district administration and police to maintain law and order.
He was talking to the people and journalists while visiting different parts of the city to check security measures at Imambargahs and procession routes.
He urged the officers to play an active role in creating religious harmony and brotherhood to defeat nefarious designs of the anti-peace elements.
He directed the officers of different departments to coordinate with each other and ensure repair of roads and installation of streetlights on the procession routes.
He also directed the Health Department and Rescue 1122 to ensure provision of medical facilities to the mourners during the processions. RPO Muhammad Tahir, CPO Waqas Nazir and other officers were also present on the occasion.
