5th Muharram procession ends peacefully
From Our Correspondent
JHANG: The 5th Muharram procession was held in Satellite Town amid a tight security on Friday evening.
The traditional Alam procession was brought out from Mohallah Ghousia. Some 450 cops under DSP City Saifullah Bhatti and DSP Sadr Tahir Khichi provided foolproof security to the participants. Security personnel were also deployed on rooftops to monitor the procession. All streets linking to main Satellite Town were blocked and DSP traffic Ijaz Masood ensured flow of traffic through alternative routes. Surveillance was also conducted by CCTV cameras. All shops in Sadr and along the procession routes were closed.
The Rescue-1122 teams and ambulances accompanied the procession. The procession culminated peacefully at the Imambargah Shah Najaf of Satellite Town after marching through its traditional route.
