Attack on police station
ATC denies bail to 12 accused

BAHAWALPUR: Anti-Terrorism Court Special Judge Khalid Arshad on Tuesday rejected bail applications of 12 main accused in a case of attacking Channi Goth police station.
Those denied bail include former naib nazim Rao Khalid Mehmood, Iqbal, Malik Saeed, Rao Sher Muhammad, Zulfiqar Ali, Zafar Ali Arain, Abbas Panwar and Ch Riaz. The court, however, granted bail to dozens of other accused in the case. The mob had attacked the police station and burnt a number of vehicles on July 3, 2012. An unidentified man was also burnt to death during the attack.
