Apca dist chief among 18 booked

for misbehaving with ACE raiding team

OKARA: Sadr police have registered a case against Apca district president Gohar Zaidi and 17 others on the charges of misbehaving and exchanging hot words with a raiding team of the ACE.

The case was registered on the complaint of Special Judicial Magistrate Tariq Mehmood. On Thursday, the ACE assistant director along with the special judicial magistrate raided the court of the tehsildar but failed to recover bribery amount from reader Jehangir. To it, the ACE raiding team allegedly got the reader undressed to search him thoroughly. On information, Apca district president Gohar Zaidi and 16 others reached there and allegedly misbehaved and exchanged hot words with them.

 

Two divorced women among three murdered

OKARA: Two divorced women and a man were murdered in different incidents here.

In the first incident, Robina, mother of four, had been living with her father Noor Ahmad at Fatehpur village after a divorce from her husband. About a month ago, Robina allegedly eloped with her paramour. Later, she returned through a Panchayat. On Thursday night, Robina was sleeping in the house when Noor Ahmad allegedly strangled her. In the second incident, Sajida Bibi of Khan Colony had got a degree of maintenance of children from a court against her former husband Bilal of Vehari district. On Thursday night, Bilal came to the house of her former wife from Vehari and allegedly shot her dead. In the third incident, Wazeer Ali of Chak 24/D had litigation with Shahnawaz and Liaqat and others. On Thursday night, Shahnawaz and six others entered the cattle shed of Wazeer Ali, who was present there with his brother Akram. The accused tied Akram on a cot and strangled him. Police have registered separate cases.
