MULTAN: Punjab Minister for Education Rana Mashhood has criticised Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan, saying that his marriage frustration is increasing day-by-day.
Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, he said that the Raiwind march would end up with Imran’s third marriage. He said that Kashmiri people were taking out rallies and staging demonstrations for their right of self-determination. The minister said that the revolt in Indian Held Kashmir was a result of Indian atrocities. He said that India was violating international agreements, adding that the international organisations would lose their credibility if it violated the Indus Water Treaty. He ruled out the possibility of a war with India. He said that a large number of separatist movements were under way in India, which would break it into pieces. He said that all possible measures were being taken to improve infrastructure in public schools of the province. It was first time in the history that the government schools performed very well, he added. He said: “We are recruiting 70,000 teachers annually in schools.” He said that minimum strength of teachers in a primary school would be four. The minister said that the Punjab government had enhanced budget for the education sector. The government was setting up water filtration plants in schools to provide clean drinking water to students and people, he said, adding that filtration plants would be installed in 100 schools in Multan district. He said that monthly scholarship of girl students had been enhanced to Rs 1,000 from Rs 200 in 16 districts of the province. The minister said that 30,000 additional classrooms were also being constructed in schools of the province. He said that the fate of BZU Lahore Campus would be decided after receiving the HEC report.
Earlier, the minister visited a school and inaugurated a tree plantation drive. He also laid down foundation stones of water filtration plants in schools, besides visiting an elementary school.
