Jahangir, Asif lose in World Squash Masters
KARACHI: Pakistan’s Jahangir Khan Junior and Asif Idrees lost in the World Squash Masters in Johannesburg on Sunday.
After beating Dirk Van of Namibia 11-9, 11-4, 11-5 in the first round of 40-44 category, Jahangir lost to Paul Atkinson of South Africa 1-11, 6-11, 6-11 in the second round.
Asif was beaten by John Mclachlan 3-11, 2-11, 3-11 in the second round of 50-54 category. He got a bye in the first round.
They will now play special plate events. There are 19 events for different age categories.
Jahangir took part in the 2014 edition of World Masters Championship held in Hong Kong. Though he lost in the second main round, he managed to win the plate event.
Currently he is working as a coach in Iran. Asif is playing this championship for the first time.
