Body formed to highlight health, cleanliness issues in Chitral
CHITRAL: The district advisory committee has been formed under the European Union-funded Project for Poverty Reduction (PPR) of the Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) to highlight and propose suggestions for solution to health and cleanliness issues at the district level.
District Health Officer (DHO) of PPR Javed Ahmad announced the setting up of the committee at the fifth district development advisory forum of PPR project here. He said the committee would comprise of district nazim, deputy commissioner, DHO, an official from Education Department, various village council nazims, representative of civil society, Bar Association, traders and media. The official said the data collected by the PPR about the health issues and healthcare problems during various round-table conferences would prove effective for those working in this sector.
District Support Manager of People’s Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI), Colonel (r) Dr Fazal Rahim, Manager Institution Development Salahuddin and a member district council from Drosh, Mufti Mehmoodul Hassan said the forum would prove vital for improvement of health infrastructure and to create awareness among the locals.They said that the PPR provided trainings, organised awareness campaigns and rehabilitated and repaired damaged health infrastructure in Drosh.
