KASUR: The Information and Culture Department organised a seminar titled “Pur Aman, Pur Umeed Punjab” to observe the International Day of Peace at the Government Elementary Teachers Training College here on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, District Coordination Officer Ammara Khan said that the Punjab government had taken a number of bold steps to end terrorism and extremism in the province under the National Action Plan. Due to the wise steps of the government, the law and order situation was improving in the province, she added. She said that every person of the country was ready to sacrifice his life to safeguard the country.
MPA Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, in his address, said that the Pakistan Army was determined to crush the terrorists and extremists from the country at any cost. He said that 97,608 cases had so far been registered against the terrorists and extremists and 105,131 criminals had so far been arrested for violating different laws introduced by the Punjab government in connection with the National Action Plan. He further said that the Punjab was the first province, which established the Counter Terrorism Force to fight against the terrorists. District Information Officer Abdul Wahid and others also spoke on the occasion.
