LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri has asked the law enforcement institutions how long would they continue to protect the incompetent and corrupt rulers.
Talking to the party office-bearers from Canada on Monday, Qadri asked the security institutions how long would they continue to do the work which government was supposed to do despite pressing demands of war against terrorism.
He said during the last eight months, 800 incidents of terrorism occurred in the country which was a clear proof of the complete failure of the government.
He said the victories of the Pakistan Army against terrorists in the mountains were being wasted by civilian government in the cities where National Action Plan was seen nowhere. He said not calling the National Assembly session till the ousted Speaker was re-elected and re-designated was not democracy but family rule and family circus.
He said all the tall claims of rulers of putting a check on the admissions in seminaries, bringing new curriculum and making Nacta and quick response forces fully effective just vanished in the air.
He said ‘Monarchy’ and ‘One-man’ rule continued in the country; otherwise, a disqualified person could never make it back to the corridors of power again and to get re-elected as speaker of the National Assembly.
The politics of the ruling party revolves around one person. He said as long as the election commission played the role of a second fiddle of the rulers, the people of the country would never be able to see their genuine representatives elected to the assemblies.
Till such time that the provincial election commissioners are not removed, free, fair and impartial elections will continue to be a dream for the people of Pakistan, he added.
