Traders observe strike against dacoity

BAHAWALPUR: Traders observed complete strike against a dacoity at Minchinabad on Monday.
The traders were chanting slogans against the incident. On Sunday night, three motorcyclists snatched cash and 40 tola gold ornaments from Minchinabad Jewellers Association president Muhammad Rafiq when he was on way home from his shop. The dacoits also shot at and injured Rafiq when he offered resistance to them. The injured man was shifted to the Bahawalnagar DHQ Hospital.
SACRIFICIAL ANIMALS WASTE: The Bahawalpur Waste Management Company (BWMC) has disposed of 2,000 ton sacrificial animals waste during the Eid days, said the BWMC managing director.
In a press briefing here on Monday, he said that the staffers had distributed 60,000 plastic bags among the people in different localities before Eid. He said that the BWMC had set up 25 camps where the sanitary inspectors were present round-the-clock to serve the general public.
