PHC disposes of case after NAB information
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday disposed of writ petition after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) KP informed that it had closed its inquiry into forest royalty in the Chitral district.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Nisar Hussain Khan Justice Syed Afsar Shah disposed of the NAB submitted reply in the court and stated that it had closed the inquiry regarding issuance of funds of forests royalty in Chidral district to irrelevant persons.
The NAB prosecutor also informed the court that the bureau had not stopped royalty of funds as the petitioners claimed. About 700 people of Chitral district had filed a writ petition in the high court against the NAB’s inquiry against them and stopping of royalty funds.
Their lawyer, Barrister Waqar informed the bench that the petitioners are real owners of the forests in Chitral district and that were regularly receiving royalty of the forests.
