Several suspects held in Faisalabad
FAISALABAD: Police and Elite Force teams on Monday conducted a search operation in Gulberg circle here and arrested several suspects under the National Action Plan.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of SSP Operation Dr Farrukh Raza.
However, the police released 200 persons after verification while 50 suspects were still detained in the police custody for investigation.
CPO Afzal Ahmad Kausar told The News that the police teams also recovered two Kalashnikovs, one rife, one pump action, one repeater, 7,750 grams charas and 411 litres liquor from the possession of the accused persons. He said that the police also nabbed 14 suspects from Lyalpur Town and recovered three pistols and a huge quantity of narcotics from their possession.
Similarly, he added,
more than one dozen suspects were also arrested during a search operation from Madanpura, Shadaab Colony, Razabad and Ghulam Muhammadabad.
He told that the police also conducted a search operation at Jaranwala Division and rounded up 77 persons and after proper verification the police freed 54 persons while 23 were still in the police custody for verification of their documents.
