Police fail to arrest rapists of 15-year-old girl

BAHAWALPUR: Sadr police have so far allegedly failed to arrest the rapists of a 15-year-old girl.
Talking to The News here on Saturday, the relatives of victim Shabana said that accused Allah Ditta, Shafique Gujjar and Attaur Rehman, employees of Civil Hospital, Jhangiwala Road, were roaming freely in the area. They alleged that the MS, the police and others were forcing them for reconciliation. They said that though the police registered a case against the accused but they were allegedly reluctant to arrest them. The victim’s relatives appealed to the chief minister to provide them justice. Earlier, Noor Jahan, a resident of Satellite Town, Khanpur, was admitted to the hospital gynecology ward. Her daughter Shabana was also with her. On August 29, hospital ward boy Allah Ditta, registration clerk Shafique Gujjar and Attaur Rehman allegedly raped her.
When the matter was reported to MS Dr Abdul Aziz, he, instead of handing over the culprits to the police, allegedly discharged Noor Jahan from the hospital without her operation.
When contacted, the SHO said that the accused were on interim bail. He said that the police were not pressurising the victim family for reconciliation.
