From Our Correspondent
FAISALABAD: Two moneylenders allegedly burnt a fruit seller for refusing further interest on the borrowed amount.
Faiz Shah had borrowed Rs60,000 from Razia Bibi and Ejaz Shah of Shamsabad. He had paid Rs 150,000 interest to them on the borrowed amount. On Friday, Fiaz refused to pay any further interest on the borrowed amount. It infuriated Razia Bibi and Ejaz Shah and they allegedly set Faiz on fire after sprinkling petrol on him. As a result, he received serious burns. He was shifted to the Allied Hospital in critical condition. Meanwhile, CPO Afzal Ahmad Kausar took notice of the incident and constituted a police party, which arrested four accused Razia Bibi, Ejaz Shah, Shani Shah and Ejaz Ali. Further investigation is under way.
