Congo virus: DG Khan declared sensitive

DERA GHAZI KHAN: The district has been declared sensitive in connection with Congo virus.
Livestock and Dairy Development Department senior officer Dr Atif Haseeb told that the district was declared sensitive due to its geographical location and movement of animals to other provinces. He said that a number of check-posts had been established to prevent from the Congo virus. He said that anti-Congo campaign had been launched at the farms level and the cattle markets where sprays were being conducted and animals were being injected. He said that necessary data was also being forwarded to the provincial secretariat on daily basis. He said that field staff was serving at check-posts round the clock ahead of the Eid. Dr Atif said that no Congo virus case was reported yet in the district.
