CNS Squash C’ship to have 15 foreign players
KARACHI: As many as 15 foreign players are to participate in a $25,000 event to be held in Islamabad from October 17-22.
According to the entry list of Pakistan Navy CNS International Squash Championship, Omar Abdel Meguid from Egypt is top seed in the main draw while his compatriot Zahed Mohamed is second seed.
Mohamed Reda from Egypt and Todd Harrity from USA are third and fourth seeds, respectively.
Rex Hedrick from Australia is sixth seed, Mazen Gamal from Egypt seventh and Peter Creed from Wales eighth.
Piedro Schweertman from Netherlands and Christopher Binnie from Jamaica are ninth and tenth seeds, respectively.
Farhan Zaman (fifth seeds) is the only seeded Pakistani in the main draw.
Tayyab Aslam is unseeded and Asim Khan has got wild card entry.
The foreigner players in the qualifying draw are Shehab Essam from Egypt; Evan Williams from New Zealand; Youssef Soliman from Egypt; Addeen Idrakie from Malaysia; Ahmad Al-Saraj from Jordan; and Ravi Dixit from India.
The Pakistani players of the qualifying draw are Shahjahan Khan, Adil Maqbool, Farhan Mehboob, Israr Ahmed, Waqar Mehboob, and Zahir Shah.
The qualification round will be played from October 17-18 in which 16 players, including four locals, will compete to qualify for the main draw, which will be played from October 19-22.
