Gujranwala DCO for taking steps against dengue

GUJRANWALA: DCO Amir Jan has directed the Health Department officials to take measures to control dengue.
He said this while addressing a meeting held to review dengue control arrangements in the district here on Sunday. The DCO expressed his displeasure over dengue control arrangements adopted by the health officers and officials in the district and warned that strict action would be taken against inefficient officials. He directed that all vacant posts of entomologist should be filled as soon as possible to declare Gujranwala as a dengue-free district. It was briefed in the meeting that all possible efforts were being taken to fight the spread of dengue in the district and emergency dengue squads had been constituted to meet any emergency situation regarding dengue. The Wasa officials were directed to start checking of all tube-wells and rectify water leakage to avoid growing of dengue larva. MPAs Ch Rafaqat and Muhammad Taufiq Butt were also present in the meeting.
