PKF pick squad for South Asian Karate
KARACHI: Pakistan Karate Federation (PKF) on Saturday unveiled its squad for the 3rd South Asian Karate Championship 2016 which will be held in New Delhi from September 22-25.
It’s an event for cadets, juniors and seniors. Pakistan will participate in both male and female events, the authorities said.
Pakistan did not take part in the second edition a couple of years ago because they had not been given Indian visas. They were the defending champions.
Pakistan’s top player Saadi Abbas is also part of the touring party. Saadi has won two gold medals in the Commonwealth Karate Championships, one gold in the Asian Championships and one in the US Open.
The PKF said that the visa applications for the event had been submitted.
