Three commit, as many attempt suicide

FAISALABAD: Three youngsters committed and as many others attempted suicide in different incidents here.
Mehr Akram of Rehmanabad and Muhammad Qasim of Awan Town ended their lives by swallowing poisonous pills. Saqi of Warispura committed suicide by jumping into a canal near Korianwala Bridge on Samundri Road. The motive behind the incidents is said to be domestic disputes.
Meanwhile, Munawar of Muslim Town, Sobia of Zia Town and Ayesha of Mohallah Qaim Sain attempted suicide in different incidents. They were under treatment in a local hospital.
MAN MURDERED: A man was murdered over a children dispute at Rehman Town in Ghulam Muhammadabad police limits on Monday night.
Zohaib, Kala and three others allegedly attacked Abbas Ali with sharp-edged weapons. As a result, he was injured seriously. He was shifted to the General Hospital where he died.
GIRL DIES: A girl was burnt to death at Mohallah Maskeenpura, Chiniot, on Monday night. Saba Imran was putting boiled milk in a glass when a pot fell from her hand. As a result, boiled milk fell on her body, injuring her seriously. She died on way to a hospital.
Traders demand ban on MQM

FAISALABAD: The Anjuman-e-Tajran and the Chemists and Druggists Association took out a rally against MQM leader Altaf Hussain in Samundri on Tuesday.
The rally was led by Anjuman-e-Tajran president Mian Shabbir Ahmad, general secretary Rana Iftikhar Ahmad and the Chemists and Druggists Association president. Mian Muhammad Yousaf of the Jamaat-e-Islami also participated in the protest rally. Addressing the rally, speakers demanded immediate ban on the MQM. They also demanded trial of Altaf Hussain under Article 6 of the Constitution.
Om Puri for peace in region

FAISALABAD: Bollywood legendary actor Om Puri has appealed to the rulers of Pakistan and India to foster friendship for the lasting peace in the region.
Addressing a function here on Monday night, he said that more 95 per cent citizens of both the countries were in favour of friendly ties. Om Puri said that Pakistani actors were not lesser than the Indian Khans. He was of the view that India should also allow screening of Pakistani films in India.
