Rumours about children kidnappings perturb parents in Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi: Rumours being spread by some culprits about kidnapping of children from various parts of the city have perturbed the parents who are now feeling fear for the safety of their kids.
Sajid Mansoor, a resident of Dhoke Hassu, said some elements are playing mischief and causing panic among citizens by spreading baseless stories about kidnapping of children.“The people should not believe in rumours and avoid spreading them. The local administration should nab the people who are circulating such messages and creating fear in the minds of the parents about safety of their children,” he said.
The spread of fake information about kidnapping of children has become a common practice in last few weeks due to which the parents now do not let their kids play in the grounds and even some of them are also showing hesitation to send them to schools.
The Punjab Police have officially denied the presumed surge in child kidnapping indicating baseless information is being spread by some elements for their vested interests.According to the reports, a huge number of people are using the helpline numbers to report the kidnapping cases but investigations seldom proved that the suspect was an abductor.
Faisal Raja, a resident of Satellite Town, said many people are seen spreading stories about kidnapping of the children but if anyone asks them the source of their information then they never provide any proper answer.
