Commissioner for coordination between bar, dist admin

FAISALABAD: Commissioner Momin Agha Saturday said the lawyers’ community has always played a vibrant role for the supremacy of law and upholding the Constitution.
He said this during his visit to the District Bar Association. Talking to office-bearers and members of the Bar, he said lawyers possessed prominent status in society. He said they had taken part in restoration of democracy and worked for its promotion. The commissioner said strong mutual contacts were imperative in order to providing every possible relief to the public and maintaining departmental good governance. He vowed keeping close liaison between administration and bar for redressing social issues and dispensation of justice to the oppressed people. He informed the members of Bar about the measures taken for the improvement of medical services delivery in government hospitals of Faisalabad division and said a number of steps were being taken to raise the performance of the government departments for the public facilitations.
He assured the members of the Bar for solving the issues faced by the lawyer community including security and parking of the vehicles on the district court premises. On a proposal, the commissioner said construction of parking plaza at the available site in the district court would be considered and comprehensive planning would be made in this regard. He informed that Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency of FDA had been given task for the study of traffic count in eight bazaars of the clock towers for catching the issue of vehicle parking in these busiest bazaars.
He said construction of parking plazas and other arrangements were being considered to solve the chronic and long lasting issue of parking in the city. District Bar Association president Qaisar Nazir Sahi, secretary Azhar Hanif Khan, member Punjab Bar Council Changaiz Khan Kakar and others welcomed the commissioner. They assured their full cooperation for the administration and informed the commissioner about the problems of bar association, including vehicle parking and security.
