Man booked for murdering wife for property

OKARA: A-Division police on Saturday booked a man on the charge of killing his wife over a property issue.
Accused Faryad Zafar had contracted marriage with Misbah of Bama Bala some time ago. Later, Faryad asked his wife to transfer her property on his name but she refused to do so, which infuriated the accused. On the day of the incident, the accused took his wife on a car by saying that they would go on a long drive. On the day, the accused along with his accomplices allegedly strangled her and rammed into his car with the railing of an overhead bridge to hide the murder. However, the police found marks of torture on the neck of Misbah. Later, the police registered the murder case on the application of Misbah’s brother Faisal Riaz.
ARRESTED: Cantt police on Saturday arrested Anjuman-e-Mazareen Punjab (AMP) president Mian Khushi Muhammad.
Khushi was on his way by a bike from military farm of 4/4L village when the Cant police arrested him.
BODY FOUND: An unidentified addict was found dead from Jinnah Park here on Saturday.
Police have sent the body for autopsy.
PAT stages sit-ins in Okara

OKARA: Activists of the Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) on Saturday staged sit-ins at three different sites in the district.
Dozens of male and female members of the PAT staged a sit-in outside the Minhajul Quran office on GT Road. PAT provincial vice-president Qari Mazhar Fareed Sial advocate, Hafeez Qadri, Mirza Khalid and others addressed the sit-in participants. The second sit-in of the PAT was staged at Renala Khurd in which PAT tehsil president Amir Qadri addressed. In Hujra Shah Muqeem, Malik Yasin Awan, PAT tehsil Depalpur president addressed protesters.
