Rs 7.2m misappropriation
Inquiry against Education Dept stenographer ordered

HAFIZABAD: The Anti-Corruption Establishment has started inquiry against a stenographer of the Education Department on the charge of misappropriating Rs 7.2 million.
Punjab Teachers Union president Mushtaq Ahmad Chattha had submitted a written application to the ACE director in which he alleged that stenographer of DEO Elementary office Sanaullah misappropriated Rs 7.2 million of class fifth scholarships during the last 12 years. Owing to which hundreds of students of the district had been deprived of their scholarships, he alleged. At this, the ACE has started inquiry against the stenographer.
CASH, CELL PHONES SNATCHED: Two dacoity incidents were reported here on Saturday.
Four dacoits entered the house of Rai Amir at Udoke village and looted cash, gold ornaments and other valuables. In another incident, four dacoits intercepted Mazhar Iqbal near Dhullayana and snatched cash and cell phones from him. Police have started investigation.
