Allegation of stealing cash
Two servants tortured by employers in Multan
From Our Correspondent
MULTAN: A child and a youth were subjected to inhuman physical torture by their employers in separate incidents here on Friday.
In the first incident, six-year-old Ali Hassan had been working as a servant in the house of Tanveer Ahmad for the last couple of months. Tanveer and his wife allegedly burnt his body parts with a hot iron rod after accusing him of stealing 200,000 Australian dollars. The accused couple also kept him illegal dentition for five days.
Meanwhile, the victim’s family staged a demonstration at Gulgasht Colony and demanded strict action against the accused couple. They said that the accused couple did not allow them to meet Ali during the last five days. However, Tanveer Ahmad rejected the charges and said that the medical examination of the victim would clear everything.
On information, Gulgasht police reached the spot and recovered the victim from the custody of the couple. SDPO Chaudhry Nasrullah Warriach said that the child had been shifted to a hospital for medical examination. He said that the Punjab IGP had taken notice of the incident. Police have registered a case against the couple and started investigation.
In the second incident, Chelyak police recovered 24-year-old salesman Rashid, having burn injuries, from the custody of the medical store owner on Nishtar Road.
The relatives of Rashid reported to police that medical store owner Malik Amin with his five unidentified accomplices allegedly burnt his body parts with a hot iron rod after accusing him of stealing cash. Police have started investigation and constituted a team to arrest the medical store owner.
