Multan face Peshawar in National Disabled T20 final
KARACHI: Defending champions Multan will take on Peshawar in the final of the 5th ICRC National Disabled T20 Championship at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium here on Friday (today).
In the first semi-final, Multan thrashed Lahore by six wickets here at RLCA Gulberg Ground. Lahore won the toss and decided to bat first. They scored 130 for seven. Muhammad Shabaz top scored for the side with 26 runs. Umaz-ur-Rehman, Muhammad Asif and Majeed Hussain took two wickets each.
Multan easily reached the target in 16.2 overs with six wickets in hand. Captain Matloob Qureshi scored 46 off 40 balls. Nasir Mehmood contributed 38 off 34 balls.
In the second semi-final, at KCCA Stadium, Peshawar edged hosts Karachi by four runs.
Peshawar were all out for a paltry total of 89 in 18.4 overs. Skipper Nihar Alam scored 47 runs. Rao Javed grabbed three wickets, while Muhammad Kalam and Haroon Rashid took two wickets each.
In reply, overconfident Karachi started very slowly and eventually failed to reach the target although they lost only four wickets.
Waheed Khan took 39 deliveries to score 28 runs, while Arif Richard made only 23 off 38 balls. Danish Ahmed scored unbeaten 17 off 23 balls. Geo Super will telecast the final match live.
