Nine Gepco officials terminated

GUJRANWALA: The Gepco authorities on Monday terminated nine officials, including one SDO, for negligence and poor performance.

As many as eight other officials were also demoted on the same charges. According to sources, SDO Ghulam Rasool, LDC Sajjad Ahmed, Shafiq, Munir Ahmed, Hassan Raza, Muhammad Zargham, Dilawar Hussain and Saqib were dismissed while Tariq Mehmood, Muhammad Younis, Muhammad Bashir, Muhammad Asim, Shahid Hanif, Shafqat and Irfan Ahmed were demoted.

MAN KILLED, ANOTHER HURT IN ACCIDENT: A man was killed while another injured in an accident on Sialkot Bypass on Monday.

Yaqoob and Nasir were on their way by a motorcycle when their motorcycle collided with a donkey-cart. As a result, Nasir died on the spot while Yaqoob received injuries and rushed to the DHQ Hospital.

 

Woman kills husband in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: A woman allegedly killed her husband over a domestic issue at Kalar Abadi here on Monday.

Ashfaq, an addict, quarreled with his wife Naseem Bibi over some issue. Later, accused woman Naseem Bibi allegedly hit bricks on his husband’s head, which caused his instant death. Later, Baghbanpura police registered a case and arrested the accused woman.
