Independence Day celebrated with national zeal

FAISALABAD: The Independence Day was celebrated with simplicity and national zeal throughout the district on Sunday.
The main flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Commissioner Complex. Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs and Human Rights Khalil Tahir Sindhu, parliamentarians Haji Akram Ansari, Dr Nisar Jatt, Mian Tahir Jameel, Haji Khalid Saeed, Haji Ilyas Ansari, Faqir Hussain Dogar, Madiha Rana and Fatima Fareeha, Commissioner Momin Agha, RPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana, DCO Salman Ghani, CPO Afzal Ahmad Kausar, ADC Ejaz Khaliq Razzaqi, Pakistan Movement Workers Haji Bashir Ahmad, Yasin Malik and others attended it.
Later, talking to newsmen, Punjab Minister for Minorities Khalil Tahir Sindhu congratulated the nation on the Independence Day. He said that Pakistan would soon become a peaceful country. He said that the Independence Day was celebrated with simplicity due to the Quetta tragedy. The police had made stringent security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident. The public parks and recreational points remained closed to avoid public gatherings due to the threat alerts.
BUREWALA: People celebrated the Independence Day with great fervour, zeal and solidarity here on Sunday. The main national flag hoisting ceremony was held at Jinnah Hall in which PML-N MNAs Ch Nazir Ahmad, Syed Sajid Mehdi, MPA Irshad Ahmad, AC Ahmar Sohail, TMO Rana Naveed and others participated. Various government and private schools and social organisations arranged colorful ceremonies while different political parties also took out rallies to mark the day.
NANKANA SAHIB: The Independence Day was observed with zeal, fervour and enthusiasm across the district on Sunday. The day dawned with special prayers in the mosques for prosperity and progress of the country. The main flag hoisting ceremony was held at Gymnasium Hall. Addressing the ceremony, Federal Minister for Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir Ch Barjees Tahir said that independence was a great blessing of Almighty Allah. He claimed that law and order situation was becoming better day by day as compare to previous years. MPA Rana Jamil said that it was the day when we should take oath to eliminate corruption from the country. Meanwhile, police had adopted strict security measures to avoid any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, the Sikh community held a special Ardas (prayer) for the prosperity, solidarity and progress of the country at the Gurdwara Janamasthan on the eve of the Independence Day.
LALAMUSA: The Independence Day was celebrated with national zeal and enthusiasm amid tight security here on Sunday. The main flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Municipal Committee in which MPA Ch Ashraf and others paid rich tributes to the national heroes. A religious organisation also took out a motorcycle rally to mark the day. The PPP and the Christian community also held programmes in connection with the Independence Day. Former finance minister Ch Tanveer Ashraf Kaira while addressing a ceremony that Pakistan was a great blessing for us and we should respect the freedom. A flag hoisting ceremony was also held at the Government ID Junjua College for Women in which participants paid rich tributes to the heroes of the Pakistan movement.
PAKPATTAN: Like other parts of the country, people celebrated the Independence Day with great respect and enthusiasm here on Sunday.
Various flag hoisting functions were organised at different schools and colleges and government offices to mark the day. All roads and streets were decorated with buntings, national flags and colourful lights to celebrate the day. The main flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Govt High School.
TOBA TEK SINGH: People observed the Independence Day with zeal and fervour in the city on Sunday. Various national flag hoisting ceremonies were held to commemorate the day in which MPA Amjad Ali Javed, Ayub Gadhi, DCO Amir Ijaz and AC Muhammad Shafiq participated.
OKARA: Like other parts of the country, people celebrated the Independence Day with full zeal and enthusiasm in the district here on Sunday.
The day dawned with special prayers for progress of Pakistan in mosques and other places. The main flag hoisting ceremony was organised at the District Complex in which MNA Nadeem Abbas was the chief guest while DCO Sucrat Aman Rana and other officers were also present. Likewise, flag hoisting functions were also held at Depalpur and Renala Khurd in which participants threw light on the importance of the day.
VEHARI: A number of functions were held to celebrate the Independence Day here. The main function was held at the District Council where MPA Mian Saqib Khursheed hoisted the national flag.
MUZAFFARGARH: The Independence Day was celebrated in the district. The day dawned with special prayers in all mosques for solidarity and peace in the country. The main ceremony of flag hoisting was held at the DCO Office.
