Doua, Amal in National Junior Badminton C’ship final

KARACHI: Karachi Port Trust (KPT)’s Doua and Punjab’s Amal Muneeb won their respective semi-final matches in the U17 girls’ singles event of the National Junior Badminton Championships in Lahore on Friday.
Doua recovered from a set down to beat Laiba Masood of Punjab by 8-21, 21-16, 21-12. Amal thrashed Arfa Hassan of KPK in straight sets by 21-9, 21-12.
In the U19 singles event, Minal Tariq, Iqra Tahir, Anmol Rasheed and Hadia Ishfaq cruised into the semi-finals.
The duo of Manaal Tariq and Azmat Firdous defeated Iqra Rehman and Ramsha by 21-11, 21-11 in the U19 doubles event semi-final.
