Couple held for ‘kidnapping’ their own son

OKARA: Police on Saturday arrested a couple for ‘kidnapping’ their own son.
Addressing a press conference, DPO Faisal Rana said that Muhammad Shahzad of Sirki Mohallah got a case registered of kidnapping of his son Zeb Ali, 12, on Aug 3. The DPO said that the police after hectic efforts recovered the boy. The DPO claimed that Shahzad and his wife had made a plan to show that their son was abducted. In the beginning, he added, Shahzad told the police that his wife received calls from a man and the caller was later identified as Muhammad Afzal of Dera Ghazi Khan. However, he maintained, the police after hectic investigation traced out the whole matter and arrested Shahzad and his wife. The police also recovered their son from 40/D village on the pointation of Shahzad, the DPO added.
DACOIT KILLED IN ENCOUNTER: A dacoit was killed during an encounter with police near 8/1AL village, Akhtarabad, on Friday night.
Six dacoits were looting passers-by when Sadar Renala Khurd police rushed to the spot and tried to arrest the dacoits. On seeing the police, the dacoits opened fire, which was retaliated. As a result, one dacoit, later identified as Ayub of Pattoki, was killed while his five accomplices fled. The police also seized a pump action gun and a motorcycle. The police have registered a case.
BIKER KILLED ON ROAD: A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident on Okara-Faisalabad Road on Saturday.
Ashraf of 7/1R village and his son Muteeur Rahman were on their way by a bike when a truck hit them. As a result, Ashraf died on the spot while his son was seriously injured and shifted to a hospital. Sadar police have registered a case.
COMMITS SUICIDE: A man committed suicide at Tarsanghi village on Saturday.
Bulbul, s/o Aslam, ended his life by hanging himself with a tree. The motive behind the incident is said to be a domestic dispute.
