Students beating case: Teacher sent to jail in Chitral
CHITRAL: The principal of a private school, who was arrested a day earlier for beating students in Drosh tehsil was sent to jail on judicial remand on Wednesday.
The police arrested the principal of the Learners’ School, Inamul Kabir, when a video of his thrashing the students went viral on Tuesday.District Education Officer Hanifullah sealed the Learners’ School where the students were thrashed and asked the authorities to cancel the registration of the institution. The administration registered cases against the accused under the child protection act.
The Education Department constituted a committee comprising District Education Officer Hanifullah and Principal Sentential Model High School and directed them to submit the report within a week.
Meanwhile, Member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Bibi Fauzia condemned the beating of students and directed the DEO to cancel the non-objection certificate of the school. She asked the parents to cooperate with authorities in the investigation.
