Traffic police campaign launched

MULTAN: RPO Sultan Azam Taimuri has ordered the traffic police not to issue challan tickets during a traffic police campaign here.
He issued these directions while addressing the participants of a traffic police walk organised in connection with the traffic police campaign here on Monday. The RPO directed the traffic wardens to issue only warning chits during the phase II of the campaign in the city. He said that issuance of temporary ticket was a positive gesture to change the habits of the public. RPO Sultan Azam Taimuri said that special awareness lectures would be arranged at educational institutions, schools and colleges to throw light on the importance of use of helmets and fastening of seat belts. He said that the traffic campaign had been divided into two parts as traffic rules awareness education would be launched in the first phase and enforcement of traffic rules in the second phase. The awareness campaign would continue from Aug 1 to Aug 14 while the second phase would launch from August 15, he added.
EMERGENCY AT HOSPITALS: The City District Government on Monday imposed emergency at hospitals and directed the Livestock and Health departments to conduct sprays to avoid from Congo virus.
Talking here, DCO Nadir Chattha said that no Congo infected patient had been reported yet in Multan. He said that tasks had been given to the departments concerned for killing of ticks at cattle sheds. The administration had established an isolation ward at the Nishtar Hospital, he added.
