Siraj asks ministers not to backstab Kashmiris
LAHORE
Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has asked the Pakistan government that if its ministers were unable to plead the just cause of Kashmiris, they should at least refrain from stabbing them in the back by speaking New Delhi’s mind.
The federal ministers must represent the nation’s aspirations and, hence, should be mindful of their duty that they must not utter anything conflicting with Islam and country’s ideology. While addressing a meeting of the JI media committee at Mansoora on Monday, Sirajul Haq took strong exception to Federal Information Minister Pervez Rasheed’s remarks at a Kashmir seminar on the previous day which, he said, looked like a statement of an Indian minister rather than a Pakistani minister.
Sirajul Haq reminded the information minister that Quaid-e-Azam had termed Kashmir the jugular vein of Pakistan, besides asking them to read at least the history of his own country to become aware that the slogan of “ Pakistan Ka Matlab Kya, La Ilaha Illallah,” was the most popular slogan of All India Muslim League during the Pakistan movement which proved that the country was created as a result of an ideological movement.
Siraj said it was a tragedy that the slaves of the British colonists who grabbed power after them had been propagating secularism and liberalism in a bid to undermine the ideological foundations of the country. He said at least the ministers must be aware of the fact that millions of Muslims had laid down their lives and properties for migrating to Pakistan which proved that the country was created for higher objectives and not just for the sake of mundane worldly pursuits. Siraj said these elements should realise the country’s geographical boundaries and national security could only be safeguarded by following its ideology. He said the Pakistani rulers had given a warm welcome to Indian Prime Minister Modi who had been shedding Kashmiris blood. Modi was the main culprit behind the demolition of historic Babari Masjid and the massacre of thousands of Gujarat Muslims. Modi had also confessed to his country’s active role in dismemberment of Pakistan to create Bangladesh, yet the rulers in Islamabad were talking of friendship with India. The Pakistani rulers had not raised a single voice on Modi’s confession at any international forum, he regretted.
