Five killed, 14 injured in Hangu road accident
HANGU: Five persons, two women among them, were killed and 14 others sustained injuries when a vehicle plunged into a gorge in Naka village here, officials said on Wednesday.
They said the driver lost control over the steering while negotiating a turn and the vehicle fell into the ravine. As a result, they said, Sheraz Mir, Islam Khan, Jalil Khan and two women were died on the spot while 14 other passengers sustained injuries.
Some of the injured included Shan Gul, Imran, Naik Marjan, Bismillah Jan, Aman Khan, Nisar, Wali Marjan, Sanab Gul, Rahmat Gul, Muhammad Wajid, Rahman Gul, Muqeebur Rehman and a woman Siraj Bibi. They said that the doctors referred five of the injured to a hospital in Peshawar owing to their precarious condition. Police said that the incident occurred due to overloading.
