Dates, mangoes carnival opens

BAHAWALPUR: General Officer Commanding Maj-Gen Amjad Ali Khan Khattak inaugurated a two-day dates and mangoes carnival 2016 here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the GOC appreciated efforts of the organisers for organising the exhibition. DCO Dr Ehtesham Anwar said that the exhibition was a joint venture of the district government and the army. Agriculture EDO Chaudhry Tanveer Ahmad also spoke on the occasion. Later, the GOC visited different stalls of dates and mangoes. He also gave away appreciation certificates to Agriculture EDO Chaudhry Tanveer Ahmad, Director Mango Research Institute Multan Mushtaq Alvi, Shujabad horticulturist Abdul Ghaffar, Bahawalpur Agriculture DO Irfan Cheema, Rahimyar Khan Agriculture DO Muhammad Imtiaz, Jhang assistant horticulturist Malik Fayyaz Ahmad, Bahawalpur assistant horticulturist Bahawalpur Azhar Bashir and Faisalabad Horticulture Director Muhammad Ishtiaq.
