PHE office inaugurated in Chitral
CHITRAL: The district office of the Public Health Engineering Department was inaugurated here on Monday.Secretary Public Health Engineering Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nizamuddin was chief guest on the occasion who inaugurated the newly built office of the entity.
Deputy Commissioner Osama Ahmad Warrich, District Nazim Maghfirat Shah, Member National Assembly Shehzada Iftikharuddin and other officials of the Public Health Engineering Department were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Nizamuddin said that the department had carried out around 200 projects including that of Angarghun Water Supply scheme, Golen Gol Water Supply scheme, Drosh Water Supply Scheme and others in the far-off mountainous since 1978. He said that about 68 percent of the population of Chitral was benefiting from these schemes.
He said that the flash floods had damaged 216 water supply schemes in the district. He said that 139 water schemes had been restored while development work on 77 others would be completed in four months.
