DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Three terrorists were killed in a clash with security forces after a bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a checkpoint at the newly-constructed Degree College in Draban on the night before Eid, official sources said.
The sources said that a militant rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the checkpoint at the Degree College, Draban. After the suicide attack, militants led by their commander Amin Jan alias Malang attacked the checkpost with heavy arms.However, security forces repulsed the attack and killed three militants, including one Amin Jan. The militants escaped after their commander was killed.
The fleeing militants encountered an armoured personnel carrier that was heading towards the college after receiving the information about the attack on security forces. A constable of the Quick Response Force Amin Nawaz was killed in the exchange of fire.
The slain cop was laid to rest in his native village in Panyala with state honours.Official sources said that Amin Jan was wanted by the police in 23 terrorism cases, including the Dera Ismail Khan Jailbreak case. He carried Rs1.5 million head money.Amin Jan was also involved in killing three brothers of a senior police officer Saifur Rehman at their home.Amin Jan was third on the police list of the most-wanted terrorists in the district.
