ISLAMABAD: Dr Tanvir Zamani, who was dubbed a stranger in the PPP by its top leadership, declared PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari as a his ‘brother’.
Dr Zamani, a mysterious character, announced in a press conference to contest the next general election from Lyari and Lahore while claiming herself as a PPP worker and leader.In a press conference here on Monday, she accepted that Tahseen Javed is his husband. “Zardari is my leader and brother and whosever has followed the philosophy of Bhuttoism is my brother,” she said responding to a volley of questions related to her actual relation with Zardari.
PPP Spokesman Senator Farhatullah Babar had given a shut-up call to Dr Zamani asking her to avoid claiming herself as a senior PPP leader. In his statement last week, Babar had stated that for the past several days one Ms Zamani has been appearing almost regularly on the television channels masquerading as a PPP leader.
In her press conference on Monday, Dr Zaman praised COAS Raheel Sharif saying that he should continue his mission and the government should support him. To a question about meeting with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Dr Zamani said that she would definitely meet Bilawal, if got a chance.
When asked about her birth place, she clarified that her family migrated from India when she was only 10-month-old. “I have never visited India once we migrated,” she added.On the question of staying away from Pakistan, Dr Zamani said she was completing her studies so she could not manage to come.
