Atrocities in IHK: PML-N activists stage demo against India

c: Activists of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz on Thursday staged a demonstration to express solidarity with the people of Indian Held Kashmir.
They condemned the Indian atrocities on innocent Kashmiris. They also burnt an Indian flag. They shouted slogans against the Indian government. They said that the Indian forces had unleashed a wave of terror in the valley to deprive the Kashmiris of their fundamental right of self-determination. They urged the Pakistan government to prepare a strategy regarding the matter so that Kashmiris could get the right of self-determination.
PCGA ELECTIONS: The Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) has announced schedule for 2016-17 elections.
According to the schedule, an interim electoral list will be issued today while the voters can get their names corrected through an application till July 18. New electoral rolls on division basis would be issued on July 21 while PCGA general secretary Muhammad Asif Khalil and Tauqeer Shah would be the returning officer and the deputy returning officer respectively.
Objections against the voters’ list would be decided on August 1 while appeals against the returning officer’s decisions can be filed till August 4 and these would be decided on August 8. The final list of voters will be issue on August 20.
The candidatures for 15 CEC seats would be accepted till August 24, scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on August 25 and appeals against acceptance or rejection of candidatures can be filed till August 26. The election commission would decide the appeals on August 29.
Decision of the election commission could be challenged till August 31 while decision on appeals will be announced on September 7. The final list of candidates would be published on September 9 while elections in north and south zones will be held on September 19. The official result will be notified on September 20.
Meanwhile, nomination papers for the slots of chairman, and vice-chairmen can be submitted till September 22 while their scrutiny will be held on September 23 and elections will be held on September 26.
Meanwhile, the PCGA central executive council, in its meeting, formed an election committee headed by Sardar Khalil Ahmad, chief election commissioner, and Sajjad Hussain Goraya and Mehfooz Ahmad Bajwa as its members.
The CEC meeting was attended by senior vice-chairman Girdhari Lal, Suhail Mehmood Harral, Hafeez Anwar, Amanullah Qureshi, Malik Ghulam Mustafa, Ch Khalid Rafiq, Sheikh Ashfaq Ahmad, Rana Naveed Ahmad, Mukhtar Ahmad Chaudhry, Haji Muhammad Akbar, Mian Fazal Elahi, Tariq Amir Khan, Ch Naeem Ahmad, Muhammad Arshad, Qaisar Mehmood, Zahid Islam and Asif Khalil.
