Six terrorists killed in Okara raid
OKARA: Six terrorists were killed in a joint raid of the police and security forces in a village of Okara on Wednesday, police said.
The four killed terrorists have been identified as Saeedur Rehman, Amir Habib, Sab Rehman and Sami. These terrorists belong to Hangu, Shangla, Bannu and Islamabad. Efforts are being made to ascertain the identity of the two remaining dead terrorists.
Police and agencies on a tip-off about the presence of suspected terrorists raided Okara’s Chak No28 2R. The terrorists, holed up inside a house, opened fire on security forces resulting in a shootout, police said.
One policeman and two personnel of a sensitive agency were injured during the crossfire following which the personnel called for reinforcements.During the raid, a loud explosion occurred in the house due to which its roof collapsed. Exchange of fire due to which its roof collapsed. Exchange of fire between the police and the suspects continued for two hours.
Indian, Russian made arms, suicide jackets, maps, rocket launchers, material to make bombs and other arms were recovered from the dead terrorists. The law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
Police also recovered a huge cache of advanced weapons and a map of the DPO office from the suspects’ possession.After the incident, the police began a search for the owner of the house who had rented the place to the terrorists.
